Big Rapids and Mount Pleasant Auto Repair

If we had to have car issues on our weekend getaway, we are so fortunate it happened near Big Rapids. We called Johnsons and they immediately worked us in and were so accommodating. They figured out the issue right away and secured the parts to get us back on the road the same afternoon. They are about the people as much as the car!

A 3 hour job ended up with me not having my car for 2 nights. When I picked it up the ABS and traction control lights are on. They were replacing my wheel bearing. Also the receptionist was a little rude on the phone.

Wow- this auto shop is amazing! They go above and beyond to serve the customer and they truly care about people. We were traveling from Indiana to Traverse City and had major computer issues with our vehicle. We are so fortunate it happened near Big Rapids because we called them and they immediately said “sure- bring it in, we can help.” They got us on our way and I am certain it inconvenienced what they otherwise had planned for their workday. Thank you is not nearly enough.

I’m from the metro Detroit area and drove my 2010 Dodge Ram up for a long weekend fishing trip. A few miles out of Big Rapids, my front end started making some not good noises. Call a few shops and they couldn’t squeeze me in. Called Lee and he understood my situation. Dropped my truck off on Thursday around 12:00, and he (personally) had it ready to go by 1pm Friday. Fair price and excellent service. Thanks to the good folks at Lee’s shop, I did not have to extend my stay (trout weren’t biting anyway)

I really had no idea that my alternator needed to be replaced. I was having a number of electrical issues. I had my van towed to Johnson’s. They figured out. They also found an oil leak and damaged oil pump, which they fixed. They did it all for about exactly what they quoted me: $3k, which seems like a lot of money, but is actually quite reasonable given the severity of the situation. My only concern is that it took almost two weeks to finish the job. Aside from that, I am definitely pleased with the results. I am going to return to Johnson’s for all my future automotive repairs.

Excellent quick service, though I just dropped in without an appointment, because I was traveling and sensed a problem with a wheel. The professionalism and kindness were refreshing. The waiting area is lovely. Everyone I encountered was attentive and respectful.

I hit a deer two weeks ago and had to purchase a new vehicle because I had to purchase it out of pocket. I had a lot of worries about the vehicle I purchased but Greg assured me that my car would be taken care of with the best mechanics and they have served me good so far I appreciate the work they have done on my car so far and the owner is pretty cool too thank you for all your hard work guys

Very pleased with the work ethic and desire to ensure our vehicle was 100% correct prior to delivery. It was as if they treated our vehicle like their own and didn't settle for 2nd best.

My experience with johnson automotive was absolutely great! I had a break caliper lock up and they got me in immediately, repaired my vehicle, and got me in the road. It's very rare to find this kind of quick service. I would recommend this shop to everyone!
