We were so thankful for the great service we received from Johnson's yesterday 7/9/25. We were travelling home from Traverse City and our car started making terrible noises. We were afraid our U Joint was broken. We called from the highway and they said they would take a look at it. The mechanic worked through his lunch break. We had 2 lug nuts loose on the drivers side and 3 on the passenger side. They tightened them and took it for a test drive. We were on our way in a little over 1 hour. Several other shops we called, said they were too busy and wouldn't even take a look. We were so grateful they were willing to help us out.

We always look at the schedule and then we look at our heart and before long the words “we can look at it “ come out. Either way you look at it. There’s either something we can do or there’s something that no one‘s gonna be able to do in that moment but a lot of times we make away and the technicians are fantastic. Just like you said they will stop everything work through lunch stay late come in early and they are phenomenal employees. I’m thankful that you were able to experience what we do every day taking care of the community wherever that community comes from.

My family and I just arrived home safely (four states away) thanks to the kindness and compassion of Johnson’s. My wife and I and our dogs were headed home from our vacation up north when our emissions system light came on. After arranging roadside assistance, I called Johnson’s and immediately felt at ease after speaking with Greg. We arrived shortly before close, and rather than putting us off, they immediately set to work on our car. They stayed three hours late, fixed the car ( new battery, new tires, and an oil change to fix the initial issue) road tested it, and charged us a fair price. They went above and beyond to get us back on the road safely, and they even let our Poodles wait inside with us while they did! We are forever grateful.

God is good all the time. Thank you for your kind words and we are thrilled to do whatever it takes. I’m glad you made it home safe and now hopefully you don’t have anything you need to do anytime soon.

I started bringing my vehicle to Johnson's Automotive Repair for maintenance because it's close to home, but after multiple good experiences, I will choose them over other repair shops because of the quality of work and customer experience!

Amazing service amazing people, My son and I had an unfortunate and unexpected car issue and they got us in ASAP!

My guy generally does the work on our cars. We rebuilt the entire engine of a VW Passat CC and still had a pesky code hanging out. We took it apart and double checked our work and put it back together 2 more time and the code remained. Finally dropped it off at Johnson’s as we assumed it was computer related and was beyond the equipment we wanted to invest in. They hooked it up, clear the code (which we were not able to do) and checked the systems, and that was that. We has some small, petty work left (a sway link bar, a speed sensor, and a broken valve stem) that we gladly asked Johnson’s to button up for us and this car has been a daily driver and has had 0 issues or lights. A smooth ride! Super fair prices! We’d been sitting on this build for a while because we were planning to haul it to the VW dealership in Bay City and knew that would come with a pretty penny. Then Johnson’s opened right around the corner from us in Mount Pleasant and we gave them a shout and they said they had what it takes to take care of it and we kept our business local. Then my Ford Fusion. We replaced the battery and alternator about 6 months ago. More recently, intermittently, I began getting “Service Charging System” codes however no performance issues and the battery, alt, starter all continued to check out as good. I don’t use my car often but when I do, I am generally out of town. Last thing I wanted was to be stranded out of town. I stopped by Johnson’s. They had me in and out within an hour. Their best guess was there was a power surge at some point and it cause over 15 power related codes to different systems to show up however they were dormant. They were cleared and they did some further testing which all came out clean. Johnson’s went the extra mile and said “our best educated guess is this was a fluke that needed cleared. If this problem shows back up, bring it back and we will waive the initial diagnostic fee that you paid today and dig deeper.” That’s good business. This makes me so happy to know Mount Pleasant has Johnson’s. 6 years ago, this Ford sat with a seized engine after another shop in town put an incorrect oil filter on my engine and it hemorrhaged all of the oil. That shop hid behind every avenue they could when a mistake happened when all I wanted was my car back in operating condition. I’ve been very gun shy about going back to any shop. I’m so glad that now I can run to Johnson’s when a repair exceeds our equipment, expertise, or ambition to do it at home when needs arise. Thank you Johnson’s

The owner, Lee Johnson, is truly a good man. I came in with a tough situation, and instead of brushing me off, he took time out of his day to help — not just with my truck, but as a human being. You don’t see that kind of character in this world much anymore. Greg was solid too. Both of them went above and beyond. Real people, real respect.

I am proud of you. We discussed many things as we spent time together. I will try to remember to give you a call soon. I Hope that God is with you. He will listen to you, so make sure to talk to Him.
